This article reveals the most pressing issues of modern legal education, taking into account the current situation in the domestic education system and positive foreign experience. The purpose of the scientific work is to reveal the content, features and pedagogical foundations of the system of legal education. In the course of writing the article, the whole complex of general scientific methods was used, such as analysis and synthesis, abstraction, comparison, accumulation and selection of facts, and statistical data. In the process of disclosing the content of legal education, the place of the domestic education system in the international ranking was shown based on data from independent sources. The article reveals the pedagogical foundations and principles for the implementation of legal education, defines the role of the teacher as not just a carrier of knowledge, but an intermediary between the student and the desired educational material. The problem of the development of legal education affects all aspects of public life, because the acquisition of legal knowledge by an individual is based on his ability to apply them in practice in the future. For the most successful implementation of the system of legal education, it is important to rely on a student-centered approach to learning, which is the most optimal solution for achieving the goals. The results of scientific work have practical significance and have a scope, which boils down to the fact that the materials and conclusions of the article can be used in the educational process, further scientific research, when creating projects and concepts to improve the quality of legal education. At the end of the article, it was concluded that the development of legal education relies mainly on the full recognition of the importance of the rights and freedoms of the individual, i.e. his awareness of his importance, understanding of his fundamental rights and freedoms, as well as the ability to apply legal knowledge in everyday life.
