Abstract

The paper presents a new approach to determining the status of the victim in the Russian criminal law. Particular attention is paid to the ratio of the substantive and procedural characteristics, certain powers of the victim in the criminal matter, understanding the material basis for reconciliation. Analysis of the problem in line with de lege ferenda allowed identify prospects for improving the criminal law to determine the characteristics of the victim.
