The article analyzes the factors influencing the actual problems of the quality of legal education. A separate place among the cadres produced by Kazakhstani universities is occupied by future lawyers, who in the future will be responsible for the legal support of the reforms carried out in the country. These transformations may not achieve the desired results if all government structures and segments of the domestic market are not provided with the required level of legal support. The main task of higher legal education is that students can not only acquire knowledge in the field of jurisprudence, but also become specialists with a high general and professional culture, a high level of moral and business qualities, be able to think critically and make decisions independently and, accordingly, be responsible for their actions. In this regard, it is very important and requires detailed research to identify and analyze factors that today and in the future may affect the content and quality of domestic legal education. The main attention is paid to the essence and nature of legal education, its features. The author highlights the issues concerning the ways of improving legal education in the system of a holistic pedagogical process based on a competence-based approach. In addition, the article analyzes the main problems of legal education and ways to solve them, as well as issues of high-quality training of graduates of law schools. The scientific work is written on the basis of domestic and foreign studies covering the issues of legal education and ways to improve it.
