ON THE RELEVANCE OF STUDYING RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM IN THE CONTEXT OF NATIONAL SECURITY OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN (WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ANTI-TERRORIST CENTER OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN)

Abstract

It is obvious that one of the main tasks of the modern Kazakh society of the state is to achieve civil peace and harmony in society within the framework of ensuring national security, which is the guarantor of its normal functioning. Extremist crimes occupy a significant place in the overall structure of crimes and are a common phenomenon in the life of our society. Religious extremism, as the last type of social destructive activity, is a threat to the national security of the state and the foundations of sustainable development of society.

The article to study the legal nature of the concept "religious extremism" begin the study of the historical and legal foundations to its consolidation in international law, legal systems (Romano-Germanic, Anglo-Saxon, socialist, religious and traditional), as well as national legislation.

Before starting to study the legal nature of this concept, we decided to independently analyze the definitions of the legal nature of the concepts "international law", "legal systems" and "system of national legislation".

This article examines the issues of studying the relevance of religious extremism in connection with the national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the same time, the coordination of the activities of the anti-terrorist center is being studied and properly analyzed, as well as the current work of the anti-terrorist commissions that have been established under local Executive bodies. The authors of the article note some achievements of the work of this center and local commissions, in addition, they identify some shortcomings of these bodies. At the same time, the authors made some recommendations that are of a scientific and practical nature.
