The problem of terminology unification is also relevant today. Scientists pay special attention to the unification of terms, the observance of their sequence. In this context, our main position is the conclusions of scientists of previous eras, including S. Seifullin.
The paper studies the type of lexical errors among the linguistic ones found in the texts of existing legal acts. Linguistic gaps in the legislative text have a negative impact on its quality. They are presented in concrete examples. For instance, different use of translations of the same term or phrase. They are cited not only from the texts of normative legal acts, but also on the examples of published dictionaries. The paper also takes as a basis the results achieved in the course of fundamental and applied scientific research, analysis, scientific linguistic expertise.
The rules and methods for amending legal acts are defined in legal technique. One of them is the method of replacing words or numbers, this method and the fact of its non-compliance are given in a table indicating various methods of terms and words of civil law, including data. In addition, a brief table of terms approved by various options in the branches of the domestic electronic database has been compiled.
To reveal the relevance of the topic, attention is paid to studying the problem in a practical context. As an international experience, an overview of the translation practice of a neighboring country is presented. As one of the approaches to avoid gaps, separate requirements are proposed for the development of the text of the law and the publication of dictionaries in this area. The conclusions can be used in legislative practice. The model of linguistic literacy is the source of the potential law-governed state.
